Marc Ockerman and Stephen Rowell founded Winesox.com in early 2003. When invited to parties, Marc, an avid wine drinker and regular partygoer, was always searching for a unique and stylish way to present his gift of wine to the host. He searched in vain for clever packaging, while sadly, only finding low quality paper or fabric gift bags. Thus, Winesox.com was born, designed to provide stylish, elegant, and humorous wine bags that enhance any gift of wine for any occasion.

Stephen's reasons for joining the team were much the same as Marc's, captivated as he was by the idea of Winesox, and Stephen offers an extensive retail and distribution expertise. Brenda Knox joined the team soon thereafter, bringing her vast financial background and business acumen to the rapidly evolving corporation.

We coined the name "Winesox" because a bag is not just a bag and our sox are all very special. It is our vision to propagate wine "sox" all over the world. All bottles of wine deserve to be stylishly dressed and cleverly presented when given as a gift. In fact, we hope we never see an undressed bottle of wine again.
